"We ARE the Sigma Nu Snakes from East Carolina"

Hampton Inn Col Alto-Lexington, VA
A recent trip to Lexington, Virginia, has led four brothers to believe strongly that the Hampton Inn Col Alto, located at 401 East Nelson Street, in Lexington is an ideal location for a First Charter Snake Reunion in the future, wheither 2010 or 2011. The suggestion has also been made that Sanke Reunion consider two sessions, a regular one in Raleigh and a second at Sigma Nu Headquarters. We will let the majority decide.

However, note that Brothers Bill Young and Jerry Williams did not initially agree that a reunion in Lexington would work but after a trip to Lexington in October they realized that a reunion or meeting with Sigma Nu National had not been properly visalized. After a trip and tour led by Brother Jim Stout, both Young and Williams now believe an event in Lexington would be very successful. Their sentiment is agreed to by Dickie Tayloe.

There is plenty to do in Lexington and a three-day event would work beautifully. A reunion might even be tied in to a football game in the area.

Todd Denson, Director of Alumni Affairs has said National could set up meals at VMI and the Country Club. They would welcome being a part of the planning. Golf could be arranged by National at the Country Club and one event could be on the VMI Post and another at the Country Club. The Hampton Inn can also accomodate a group up to 200 participants.

The Hampton Inn is made up of an historic Mannor House blended with a Hampton Inn hotel and features excellent rooms.  And too, below we have featured a series of photos of the Mannor House that serves as the registration area, breakfast area and has some of the rooms. From the featured photos you can get an excellent idea of what the property is like.  It's also directly across the street from Sigma Nu Headquarters.  In fact, one photo shows the side of the Sigma Nu Alumni Center.  Anyone can walk over.  Lastly, downtown is just a few blocks away.
