"We ARE the Sigma Nu Snakes from East Carolina"

Robert Myron "Bobby" Tuttle
We regret to advise our Brothers and Friends that six (6) days before our 4th Snake Reunion in Lexington, VA, at the headquarters of Sigma Nu Fraternity, our Brother "Bobby" Tuttle or "Tut" as many of us knew him, passed away at his home in Morehead City. Many of us remember that Tut was a part of the High Council of the Snake Reunion responsible for starting the Eta Beta reunion process. He was also responsible for our Snake Reunion shirts that many now prize and the Snake Reunion decals and lapel pins many of us display or wear. Tut played a key role in getting the Eta Betas to begin their reunion process that ultimately will lead to the Eta Beta Alumni Chapter of Sigma Nu and could eventually bring Sigma Nu back to the East Carolina campus. None of his brothers will forget Tuttle for the brother he was to us all.
Robert Myron Tuttle
Morehead City

Robert Myron "Bobby" Tuttle, 69, of Morehead City, often referred to as "Tut", died on September 20, 2011, at home, after a short illness.

Tut was born on Apr. 10, 1942, in Oxford, to Myron Uzzle Tuttle & Margaret Eakes Tuttle.

He graduated from N.B. Broughton High School in 1960 & attended East Carolina University, where he was a Sigma Nu. From 1964 to 1968, Tut served in Germany in the Army Security Agency. Upon his return, he graduated from East Carolina University in 1970.

Tut was active in Tuttle Realtors for 27 years and retired in Morehead City in 1990.

A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2011 at All Saints Anglican Church, with the Rev. David Linka, officiating.

Survivors are his daughter, Margaret "Meg" Tuttle Powell and husband, Grey, of Raleigh; father, Myron "Bud" Uzzle Tuttle of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Ryan, Cole and Annabeth Powell. Also left to cherish his memory is Virginia Roberts of Morehead City. Tut's wife of 40 years, Beth Keel Tuttle, and his mother, Margaret Eakes Tuttle, preceeded him in death.

The family received friends at the church following the service. A number of Eta Beta brothers and friends of Sigma Nu were in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society , 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615 or to All Saints Anglican Church, 292 McCabe Road, Newport, NC 28570.
