The Creed

The Eta Beta Chapter of Sigma Nu has returned to the campus of East Carolina University. The Snakes are back!

SR-3 Ale House Gathering on May 5th
We are sorry that many of our Sigma Nu and Kappa Sigma Nu brothers and spouses had to miss Snake Reunion 3 (SR-3) and the party at the Ale House out at Brier Creek on Wednesday, May 5th because it was a hit. This year we also had some of the "Friends of Sigma Nu" such as Lee Forbis Conrad who was a "Little Sister" and her husband and restaurateur, Ken Conrad with us. Also joining the festivities were Lois Kimrey DeLashmet and Nina Hunt. Reggie Matthews, who is a KA member but also a friend of numerous Sigma Nu members joined us on Thursday evening and wanted to know where Bolo James was and why he wasn't with us.

Jim Stout has supplied us with a number of old photos that will be scaned and put on this site and Graham Dozier loaned us his scrapbook so some of that will be scanned and put on line, including the "Application for Membershi and Pledge of Faith in Sigma Nu Fraternity" signed by  Brother Dempsey H. Williams, III, on April 15, 1959 and accepted by Volney Laverne Christie.

Ray Oliver and Tom Glass may also be providing us with material that can be shared online.

Bottom line, we missed many of you but we had a great time anyway and we do want you to be with us in the future. And too, we have forgiven those of you with legitimate excuses but those without such need to know your name is on a list and you get the bar tab and the next reunion.

It has also come to our attention that Actress and Academy Award Winner, Sandra Bullock, who also attended East Carolna, was a "Little Sister" of Sigma Nu.  Therefore, motorcyclists Bill Young and T. Jerry Williams plan to invite her next year.
