Brother Robert Paul Britton, HB 158, Remembered
Robert Paul Britton, HB 158
Brother Robert Paul Britton, 56, of Greenville (HB158) passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013.

His funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. July 9, 2013 in St. James United Methodist Church. The burial service was private at Pinewood Memorial Park.

Paul, a native of Bertie County, was the son of the late Robert Lee and Frances Harrell Britton. He graduated from East Carolina University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and was also an avid and knowledgeable Pirate fan; he had been a member of the Pirate Club for more than 25 years.

Paul was employed with Great American Insurance for 13 years. He joined W. A. Moore & Co., Inc. in 1995 and opened the Greenville office. He worked with all types of commercial and personal lines insurance throughout eastern North Carolina.

Paul had been a Certified Insurance Counselor since 1990, and received his 20-year recognition certificate from the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. He also had been an Associate in Risk Management since 1991. He was currently serving on the Technical Committee for the North Carolina Independent Agents Association.

Paul was an active member of the University City Kiwanis Club. A member of St. James United Methodist Church, he had served as an usher. He participated in Community Bible Study and had been a core leader for several years.

A loving family man, Paul cherished monthly date nights with daughter Holly where they often ate Mexican food and Saturday morning breakfast dates with Amy where they sometimes included friends at Panera Bread.

Brother Britton is survived by his wife, Amy V. Britton; a daughter, Holly Frances Britton of the home; a step-son, Brandon McGee Vaughan of Wilmington; a brother, Harold Lee Britton and wife, Linda, of Wake Forest; and canine companions, Mackie and Angel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 2000 E. 6th St., Greenville, NC 27858 or ECU Pirate Club, Ward Sports Medicine Building, Suite 304, Greenville, NC
